Penis!

I was using a website which has a video dictionary of ASL signs with a young student. We were scrolling through the "P" section trying to find the word 'potato'. Somehow she managed to click on the word 'penis' (she claimed that it was an accident). The interpreter in the video made the sign for 'penis' while a male voiced boomed, "Penis." She busted out laughing and yelled out "Penis!" "This means penis!" as she demonstrated the sign. Unfortunately, this was done while we were in class (inclusion).

The teacher was not pleased with this as she tried to control the classroom roaring with laughter. She looked at me with such a disappointing look. I wanted to hide. But, I also wanted to laugh. Which I did. I laughed and laughed along with the other kids. I couldn't help it, I don't know why it was so funny.

The teacher must now think I am an immature pervert. She never really liked me before, and now she must really hate me. I am afraid I may get in trouble. Who knows what she is going to tell other people? I tried to explain to her what happened. I apologized for laughing. But, I don't think anything I say will make things better. The more I talked, the worse it got.

I wish people would just lighten up. So the student learned the sign for 'penis'. Big deal.

But, wait until I hear from the parents. Maybe they will have a good sense of humor.
